Embassy Suites Cleveland, Ohio Hotel Welcomes New Executive Chef
A leading Cleveland hotel welcomes accredited-executive chef as the culinary scene about town begins to boom.


    /Ohio News Articles/ - CLEVELAND, OH, August 20, 2008 - The Embassy Suites Cleveland-Rockside, one of the top Cleveland hotels in Independence, Ohio, is delighted to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Charles Sanders. The culinary scene in Cleveland has experienced a surge of media attention as of late behind names such as Paul Minnillo and The Food Network's Michael Symon, and Embassy Suites is eager to be one of the first Cleveland, Ohio hotels to step up to that reputation.

Chef Sanders has developed a wealthy knowledge of the culinary arts thanks to wide training that began at the prestigious Charlotte Inn in Martha's Vineyard. Working under the region's most recognized chefs, Sanders quickly developed a passion for the fresh, local ingredients of Martha's Vineyard.

"Fresh Nantucket Duckling, local island herbs, and morel mushrooms - this is where I fell in love with food," says Sanders of his early years in the culinary world.

He quickly moved on to San Diego where he worked as Executive Chef for California Caf , a chain of upscale continental restaurants featuring clean, chef-driven menus. New experiences followed shortly after when he was asked to open two popular San Diego restaurants, Harmony on Fifth and The Field Authentic Irish Pub. Always eager to try new things, Sanders then became Executive Chef for Blue Point Coastal Cuisine, an acclaimed seafood restaurant in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter.

A desire to work closer to family brought Chef Sanders to Cleveland where he first took on responsibilities at the Cleveland Athletic Club, a 100 year-old club specializing in themed and catered events.

Chef Sanders' busy road to the Embassy Suites was paved with critical recognition. With both The Field and Harmony on Fifth he won the Gaslamp Quarter Association Awards for Best New Restaurant and Best Continental Cuisine. Success rang again at Blue Point Coastal Cuisine where he gained several local and national awards including Best Restaurant in San Diego and Best Seafood.

In his short time at Embassy Suites Cleveland-Rockside, Chef Sanders has already employed his distinct culinary expertise and love of creative flavors and fresh ingredients with an entirely new menu at the hotel restaurant, The Embassy Grille. The new menu of eclectic American favorites has been a big hit.
